Adobe Digital Index analysed the buzz on social media around Eurovision contestants before and after the semi-finals this week (Adobe is CMO.com’s parent company). Before the semi-finals, Australia’s Guy Sebastian was leading the social buzz charts, but fresh analysis done immediately after the second semi-final showed he’d been knocked off the top by Albania’s entry. The Grand Final of the contest takes place on 23 May in Vienna.
“If Eurovision was decided by popularity, the Grand Final winner could well be Elhaida Dani from Albania,” said Philippe Laguerre-Auguste, Director of Communications EMEA at Adobe. “Social media mentions offer a glimpse into the worldwide interest in the contest.”
The full ADI Eurovision Top 10, based on an algorithm combining social buzz, YouTube views, Twitter followers and average betting odds for the event, now looks like this:

The ADI analysis used Adobe Social to study publicly available social mentions in multiple languages across social networks including: Facebook, Google+, Reddit, Twitter, Dailymotion, Flickr, Instagram, Tumblr, VK, Disqus, Foursquare, Metacafe, Wordpress and YouTube, as well as blogs.
“Adobe Digital Index saw a lot of movement in social buzz in the last week,” said Laguerre-Auguste. “The largest upward move was for Lott Nettot from Belgium, up eight places, and the largest move down was for Elnur Huseynov from Azerbaijian down six places.”
The new chart also showed showed Polina Gagarina of Russia jump from tenth place to fourth.
